Since 1974, the Center for the Study of Community Colleges has conducted numerous national investigations of community college leadership, practice, policy, and student success. Recent publications resulting from these projects are highlighted below.

AAUP Community College Shared Governance Survey

Conducted in collaboration with the Center for the Study of Community Colleges

In 2024 and 2025 the Center worked closely with the American Association of University Professors to administer the first national survey of community college shared governance. Results from this survey provide crucial information about community college faculty authority in various areas of institutional decision making. The report is a companion piece to AAUP's 2021 Shared Governance Survey, which provided information about shared governance at four-year colleges and universities.
