Since 1974, the Center for the Study of Community Colleges has conducted numerous national investigations of community college leadership, practice, policy, and student success. Recent publications resulting from these projects are highlighted below.

ACCT-CSCC Survey of Community College Trustees

Conducted in collaboration with the Association of Community College Trustees

In 2024 and 2025 the Center worked closely with the Association of Community College Trustees to conduct the most comprehensive survey to date of who community college trustees are, why they serve, and what they perceive to be the most critical priorities and challenges facing their institutions and the sector at large.

The resulting report, jointly published by ACCT and the Center, provides information about the beliefs and values that influence trustees' decision making, offers ideas for professional development, and and sheds light on what may be necessary to assist trustees in supporting their colleges through innovative and transformational changes.
